"William Zanzinger killed poor Hattie Carroll, with a cane that he twirled round his diamond ringed fingers
At a baltimore hotel society gathering, and the cops was called in, and his weapon took from him
as they rode him in custody down to the station, and booked William Zanzinger for first degree murder"
"William Zanzinger who had 24 years, owns a tobacco farm of 600 acres, with the rich wealthy parents who provided and protected, and high office relations in the politics of Maryland, reacted to his deed with a shrug of their shoulders, and swearwords and sneering and his tongue it was a-snarling, and in a matter of minutes, on bail was out walking"
"Hattie Carroll was a maid in the kitchen, she was 51 years old and gave birth to 10 children, who carried the dishes and took out the garbage, and never sat once at the head of table, and didn't even talk to the people at the table, who just cleaned all the food from the table, and empty the ashtrays on a whole other level
Got killed by a blow, lay slain by a cane, that sailed through the air and came down through the room, doomed and determined to destroy all the gentle
and she NEVER DONE NOTHING to William Zanzinger"
"In the courtroom of honour the judge pounded his gavel, to show that all's equal and that the court's are on the level
and that the strings in the books ain't pulled and persuaded, and that even the nobles get properly handled, once that the cops have chased after and caught them and that the ladder of the law has no top and no bottom,
stared at the person who killed for no reason, who just happened to be feeling that way without warning, and he spoke through his cloak most deep and distinguished and handed out strongly for penalty and repentance, William Zanzinger, with a 6 month sentence"
I wanted to talk about the well-known Bob Dylan song; The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll. Quoted above are the 4 verses from this symbolic piece of music (owing to B. Dylan and his music's part in the civil rights movement of the 60s). Before I start I want to make it very clear: I admire Bob Dylan. He inspires me, I'm a big fan of folk music.
The truth is, this song unfairly portrays William Zanzinger, it does warp the facts of the case, and it has convinced a population at large that William Zanzinger was a cold-blooded murderer, far from it. In reality, William Zanzinger was drunk. He held a toy 'cane', obtained at a carnival. He racially abused Hattie Carroll with slurs, which, at the time, was relatively commonplace anyhow, unfortunately. Finally, he struck Hattie with his faux-cane, all of this caused her only significant emotional stress. Several hours later, long after the incident, she died of cardiac arrest. A link was made between the two incidents and they declared William Zanzinger guilty of manslaughter (unintentional causing of death), and he was charged and served jail time. He never seriously tried to maim or kill Hattie. Additionally, William never had any 'high office relations', and no strings were pulled.
While I never advocate such regrettable behaviour as demonstrated by William Zanzinger, it is prudent we adhere to truth. Nonetheless, I shall continue to enjoy this song and the rest of Bob Dylan's music.

Alexander the Great
Was Alexander the Great a good king or a relentless narcissist? A chivalrous leader with great visions, or an obsessive tyrant? Lastly what is good and why should that be argued by the warped standards of today?
I'd like to start this article correctly, by defining what constitutes a 'good king'. Arguably, a 'good king' is to be defined by both comparison to the moral and expectational standards of the time, and the way in which he was viewed by the people whose lives depended on him (such as conquered nations, his army, and his friend and generals).
Alexander was dependant on the Army following him, and needed to retain their loyalty. In this he came close to ultimate failure. The aims of Alexander’s invasion of Persia were twofold – to plunder its riches, and to conquer land. In this King and Army were united. Whether Alexander secretly intended to displace the Great King at the outset is uncertain, but as his successes mounted he certainly acquired that aim. To govern Egypt, he had to be seen to be a ‘legitimate’ Pharoah, which Persia’s Great Kings never bothered to do, and suffered many rebellions as a result. Similarly, Alexander had to become a ‘legitimate’ Great King to be accepted by Persians –hence the Persian customs – dress, hunting lions from chariots, proskynesis, appointing Persian Grandees as Satraps etc. And this is where King and Army parted ways, for the Army wanted nothing more than to take their looted wealth – slaves, money etc home.
Alexander, then, was an absolute ruler. He was responsible for the mass murder and death of thousands, he conquered ruthlessly, and allowed none to get in his way of achieving his great dream. One must not forget that all though by modern morals this is unacceptable and reprobative in the least, for the time in which Alexander lived this was considered perfectly normal. Indeed, conquering was seen as a heroic thing.
Another important aspect to importantly consider is how Alexander treated his peers and those in need, for instance, wounded members of his army, having served him in battle. Acts of kindness towards the unfortunate are always a valid indicator of one's moral inclination. Alexander not only paid off the debts of those soldiers in debt, but when the 10,000 veterans were discharged, they received full arrears of pay, including their journey-time home, but also a gratuity of one Talent ( 26 kg of gold). This made the veterans fabulously wealthy, especially when their own loot is added in.
He visited wounded soldiers after Issus. The stench of humans rotting in pus, vomit & urine obviously didn't put him off, nor did bloodcrusted stumps, bowel hanging out of bellies and slashed faces. He saved Lysimachus' life near Tyre, and so on.
Therefore, despite the mass murdering and conquering, which by our standards deemed ethically repugnant, considering the time and its values by which he lived, and his treatment of both veterans and soldiers, as well as barbarians, Alexander was a remarkably good king, and a hero with a vision.

Prajwal Dhiwar; Strike of the Unaesthetics
I don't take much pleasure in targetting individuals for my blog posts but this particular ignoramus was just too insufferable to ignore. His name is 'Prajwal' and he hails from our favourite third world country - India.
Despite the long distance he has multiple mutual friends in common with me from my town and when criticised for his regrettable, insincere and plain callous facebook posts he responds with sardonic crap.
e.g. "Your mother must be so proud of you!
"
I've had multiple clashings with this wrong'un, the most notable being when he criticised me for my choice of guitar and claimed that his was superior based purely on the brand name. Other than that he resorts to choice insults such as "Have you been to the dentist lately? I heard you have to travel all the way to Scotland for a 'dentist'.
On his facebook page he enjoys posing pretentiously with overtly-flambuoyant guitars to scrape up whatever likes he can get.
He makes snide comments about ex-heroin addicts and the like. I'd love to see you go through poverty-related issues and then make ingenuous comments you sheltered ignoramus.
Prajwal, you're a despicable person. You lack common empathy for the unfortunate, and you have a wholely disgraceful internet persona. You need to wash, shave, find clothes that fit, drop acid, and dedicate yourself to becoming a more sincere guy. Peace out, my indian bro.

Generation Degeneration
It's been on my mind a lot lately, but I've not taken the time to express nor debate its contents until now.
I don't know how to ease in to a topic like this so I'm just going to cut straight on with an opinionated statement; our generation are the ones to witness the very last and absolute decline of all traditional social and moral values that have held society together throughout history. Take a good look around you, teenage pregnancies are on the rise, even the (excuse the crude analogy) pornographic 'milf' fad of the 90s is practically dead as every 'hot mom' out there is probably the same age as the teens. Girls are losing their virginity at 12 and 13, 15 year old girls are dating 25 year old ex convicts with no shame, middle class guys are going from ripping people off on piss weed to senselessly stabbing pedestrians within about 2 years all while our own policemen find it easier to lock up law-abiding citizens and ignore the thugs on our streets thanks to their cowardice.
In the middle ages even our society was governed by knightly virtues and strong codes of moral justice and honour. Does that exist today? A society where every single act is a selfish grapple for perceived temporary self-empowerment? All while corrupt politicians and bankers do everything they can to scrape in every last penny they can get despite already having more money than they can possibly spend in an entire lifetime, despite having enough money to house and feed every man in the third world.
When will this vile regime end? When will our generation stop being so pathetic and do something about our impending doom? The answer is never, because we're all so caught up in the insipid details of our mundane and meaningless lives.
Nihilism isn't apathy, it's realism, and realism has no intent.

To quote the Quran
Many worshippers of the 'religion of peace' have accused me many a time of never having read the Quran. And that if I had, I would surely know that the religion is benevolent and non-violent. Believe me, I have read this book of terror and submission, and even the works of Marquis de Sade (who was actually a good writer) could not par up to the horrors portrayed so casually in this 'holy scripture'.
>"Disbelievers will be the fuel for the fire."
In other words, non muslims go to hell.
>"Who disbelieves the revelations of Allah will find that Allah is swift and reckoning."
We will be punished for not believing.
>"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah."
Muslims are instructed to fight until everyone on Earth is a muslim or dead.
>"As for those who disbelieve, their patrons are false deities. They bring them out of light in to darkness. Such are rightful owners of the fire. They will remain in it."
Anybody with a religion or faith that is not Islam is a wrong doer and will burn in hell.
>"And who disobeys Allah and His messenger and transgresses His limits, He will make him enter fire, where he will dwell forever; his will be a shameful doom."
Anybody who doesn't conform will be killed by fire, and/or burn in hell.
>"Take not the Jews and Christians for friends"
More bigotry.
>'O you who believe! The idolaters are nothing but unclean."
Irrational bigotry again
I recommend anyone to pick up a copy of this hate fueled load of biased bullshit, and read yourself.
Islam isn't just a cult. It's a crime against humanity, and worse yet, a crime against reason.

We've all encountered extremists before. Whether it be online through forums, in political debates or even in schools. My friend and I recently had the misfortune to come across one such person, and worse yet, he was an Islamic extremist - possibly the most notable in this day and age.
This particular ignoramus was only a young man - 17, just studying his A level exams. Yet even at this tender age he'd managed to indoctrinate himself with dogmatic radical views toward the world. His Islamic family had immigrated from Pakistan.
It started off by him posting an angry, intolerant message on Facebook, calling for English soldiers to be killed for the 'wicked' and 'truly horrendous crime' of burning a Quran in Afghanistan (which, by the way, was being used by terrorists to communicate with each other, but he never mentioned that part, funnily enough). I showed this to my friend, who then messaged him calling for a debate about the moral fabric of Islam, and the radicalist responded by lashing out, calling for a fight, and sending death threats.
Finally, he reached the climax by sending a message claiming that 'muslim taliban soldiers are heroes,' and 'I want jewish blood.'
>"Hey Khaffir I am right muslim taliban soldiers are heros, fuck jewish scum. I want jewish blood!"
riiiighhttt
So we leaked what he said all over facebook and twitter, and unsurprisingly, he responded with more death threats and threats of violence towards the both of us. We refused to back down, when he saw me in real life did NOTHING AT ALL.
We will not back down. We will not succumb to their threats of violence, this is all these people know, the only way they can deal with challenging situations.
It's time to make a stand against Islamic extremism. We will not let our culture be ravaged by the barbarism that is rapidly being allowed by skewed politicians to spread across our beautiful homeland. We will not lose this war.

they are part of every faith or point of view however well meaning
it may be whether a hardcore Atheist, brainwashed Christian, or
mislead indoctrinated occultist." - High Priest Shadderfer
